A champion of the planet
Makkor. He appears in the
Fortress of Solitude after
Supergirl's death. When confronted by the grieving
Superman, he explains how he came to be Supergirl's husband. He encountered the unconscious Supergirl in space. She had collided with a green
kryptonite meteor and was close to death. Salkor nursed her back to health, however she was suffering from amnesia. Salkor gives her the name
Jasma and they fell in love, married and fended off an alien attack by
Naxx. When her original memories returned, Supergirl had no recollection of the marriage until her battle with the cosmically-powered
Blackstarr. Upon her death, a homing signal was sent to Salkor who journeyed to Earth to pay his final repects. (S No. 415, Jan 1986: "Supergirl: Bride of --X?")
